Animal-Safe Boozing

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya! Had one Guinness too many yesterday, did ya? Well, not me, and I’m actually Irish!   My liver is still recovering from too much boozing on my Florida trip, but even if I was in full-on binge drinking mode, Guinness would not be my choice because it isn’t vegan. Confused?

No it's not... and it's even worse for animals!

Most people are surprised to find out that a lot of beer (and wine and other alcohol) is filtered using gelatin (boiled bones, skin, and tendons), isinglass (fish bladders), or albumin (egg whites).  Gross, right?  Yeah. But where can you find out which beers are cruelty-free?  The fave of the day, of course:  Barnivore!

This comprehensive guide to vegan beer and other alcohol is a wonderful resource for anyone looking for a Guinness alternative.  You’ll be happy to know that a lot of readily available beer, like Corona and Miller Coors, are vegan, as are a TON of microbrews.  Just check out their list for more info and you can be enjoying bladder-free beer all weekend.  See you Monday, lushes!
