Burn, Baby, Burn…

…and I am certainly not referring to a disco inferno!  I am talking, of course, about my favorite hot sauce, which I promised to write up in my last post.  Well, here I am to deliver.  Meet Burn Baby Burn:

hot suace

I love so many things about this “revolutionary” sauce – from its sweet and tangy undertones to the fact that it provides the absolute perfect amount of heat – but the best part is that it was created by former Black Panther Party members and proceeds go to the Huey P. Newton Foundation.  The Foundation’s Executive Director, David Hilliard, says, “The hot sauce is another way to raise money and bring attention to the Huey Newton Foundation. We’re trying to turn the tide of violence and educate young people through our work.”  All that, and it’s organic, vegan (of course), and delicious as all get out.

Here in SF, we can buy it at local stores, but you can yours here. Try it on everything, you guys. I put it all over my collards and black eyed peas on my New Year’s Day dinner. 🙂

Fried "chicken" (thanks Gardein) and waffles) with greens and beans just waiting for some hot sauce. Happy New Year!

That meal looks so delicious! Now that’s the way to start the New Year! I’d love to try the hot sauce sometime!

Let me know if you do… and put it on everything! Last night I made kale and white bean stew and every bite got a dot of Burn Baby Burn. 🙂
